Green Schools - Karamoja Region - Uganda
Schools are the ideal action stage for demonstration projects about how the agriculture activities can support families in Uganda, especially in the Karamojia region, with the production of vegetables and crops to guarantee food and improve the nutritional variety in their diet.
The students helped and coordinated by the agriculture teacher and in many cases by farmers-parents, learn when to plant the seeds, how to take care of them, how to water them, when to harvest the different productions, what to do in case of pests presence.
Eggplants, cassavas, cow-peas, tomatoes, baby onions, beans, but also trees like orange, mango, papaya, neem or trees to produce wood like senna siamea or teak.
